From Local Sources

HUNTINGBURG — A traffic stop for a false and ficticious license plate sent two Pike County men to jail late Thursday night.

A Huntingburg Police Department officer who ran the license plate for a Toyota Celica on Chestnut Street at 11:30 p.m. stopped the car after the plate allegedly returned to a Volkswagen Jetta.

During the stop, police discovered the driver, Dillon K. Bedell, 23, 10025 E. Harrison St., Otwell, had a suspended license and had been convicted for driving while suspended within the last 10 years. His passenger, Tyler Snyder, 26, Petersburg, had a silver socket with burnt residue consistant with illegal drug use on his person, police alleged.

Authorities booked Bedell into the Dubois County Security Center on a preliminary misdemeanor county of driving while suspended (prior) and jailed Snyder on a preliminary misdemeanor count of paraphernalia possession.
