Wrecker summoned for car in ditch

From Local Sources

FERDINAND — A wrecker was needed to extract a car from a ditch on Ferdinand’s southeast side late Saturday night.

The Ferdinand Police Department was called at 11:13 p.m. to a report of a car with its hazard lights flashing in a ditch at East Third and Alabama streets.

Police said the driver, Alix Trejos, 19, Santa Claus, had safely exited the 2014 Ford Focus, which had sustained front, passenger-side damage as well as undercarriage damage.

Trejos was able to drive from the scene after the car was pulled from the ditch by a Berg’s Garage wrecker.

Damage was estimated at $1,500.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department also assisted.
