Wrecker called after SUV-vs-deer collision

JASPER — A wrecker was called after an SUV-versus-deer collision Sunday morning just south of Jasper.
Antonia M. Laux, 60, Celestine, was northbound on State Road 162 in a 2012 Nissan Juke when the 7:44 a.m. accident occurred 150 feet north of Schnellville Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Laux’s Nissan collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the west. The deputy located the deer deceased on the east side of the roadway.
Damage to the Nissan was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
A Bob Luegers Motors wrecker assisted.
