HAYSVILLE — Authorities called for a wrecker after a deer-versus-pickup truck accident Friday east of Haysville.
Cole S. Stewart, 21, Birdseye, was westbound on State Road 56 in a 2016 Nissan Frontier when the 12:21 a.m. accident occurred west of Kellerville Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
The sheriff’s department said Stewart’s truck struck a deer that ran from woods on the north side of the highway.
A deputy located the deer, which was deceased in a ditch on the south side of the highway.
