PATOKA LAKE — Authorities called for a wrecker after a deer-versus-SUV collision Wednesday morning along a highway west of Patoka Lake.
Jennifer A. Weisheit, 61, French Lick, was westbound on State Road 164 in a 2018 Kia Sorento when the 10:15 a.m. accident occurred east of County Road 900E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
Damage was estimated at between $5,000 and $10,000 when the Sorento collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the north, according to the sheriff’s department.
A deputy responding to the accident was unable to locate the deer.
A Ruxer Ford wrecker assisted.
