Wood stove smoking noted by passerby

From Local Sources

DUBOIS — A passerby reported heavy smoke Wednesday afternoon in the area of the Dubois Crossroads.

Members of the Dubois Volunteer Fire Department checked out the report at 3:57 p.m. and found the smoke was created when a resident living just south of the junction of state roads 56 and 545 fired up a wood stove. There was no issue with that, according to Fire Chief Steve Kalb.

Three trucks and 20 firefighters were on the scene for about 5 minutes.
