Women’s leadership organization to meet

The Dubois County women’s leadership organization, Women Empowering Women, will gather on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the St. Joseph Church Parish Center, 1029 Kundek St., Jasper.

Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for networking before the meeting begins at 11:45 a.m. This event is open to all prospective and current WEW members.

The mission of Women Empowering Women is to inspire women in business to reach their highest potential by instilling confidence, building networks, and promoting community in Dubois County.

Membership is open to any woman in business who lives or works in Dubois County.

WEW welcomes Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch for this September session. Born and raised in Evansville, Crouch previously served as Indiana’s State Auditor since January of 2014. Before becoming auditor, she served as the State Representative for House District 78. She was elected to the seat in 2005. Throughout her years of public service, Crouch has been focused and committed to programs and services for people with disabilities. She was honored to receive the 2012 Public Policy Award from the Arc of Indiana for her work with people with disabilities and was named Legislator of the Year in 2011 by the Indiana Association of Rehabilitation Facilities.

Crouch graduated from Mater Dei High School in Evansville. She then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, majoring in political science.
