WESTFIELD — A suburban Indianapolis woman has turned 105 years old with a car parade to mark the occasion.
Ruth George celebrated her birthday on Saturday in Westfield, according to WTHR-TV. A line of cars drove by the senior citizens center where she lives and greeted her. Family, friends and a few strangers participated.
She said she has been lonely without a lot of visitors but the parade cheered her up.
George, a three-time cancer survivor, said her secret is working hard and trusting in God.
She has four sons, 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
