JASPER — The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office booked a Warrick County woman into jail Sunday afternoon on a warrant charging her with failing to return to lawful detention.
Melissa D. Farrington, 37, Boonville, was a work-release participant who did not return to the Dubois County Community Corrections Center from her place of employment on Aug. 5, according to court documents.
A warrant charging her with a Level 6 felony count of failure to return to lawful detention was issued in Dubois Superior Court on Aug. 9.
Authorities booked Farrington into the Dubois County Security Center at 5:28 p.m. Sunday on the active warrant.
During a court appearance Monday, the court approved Farrington’s request for pauper counsel and entered a preliminary plea of not guilty on her behalf. Her next hearing was set for Jan. 22 and she was ordered held pending that next court date.
