Woman jailed after weekend incident

JASPER — Police brought a woman to jail Wednesday in connection to a weekend incident east of Jasper.

Dubois County Sheriff’s Office deputies were originally dispatched at 7:30 p.m. Saturday to a report of someone in danger of harming themselves.

While at the call location, police allege, Kristina M. Lewis, 34, whose current address was unavailable, struck a deputy multiple times and refused to walk to a police vehicle when being taken into custody.

Authorities booked Lewis into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:11 p.m. on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony battery on law enforcement and misdemeanor resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.
