Woman, child injured in Dubois-area rollover

DUBOIS — A woman and a child suffered injury in a Wednesday morning rollover south of Dubois.
Hailee Q. Foster, 18, Jasper, was southbound on Jasper-Dubois Road in a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser when the 7:50 a.m. accident occurred one-quarter mile south of Dubois, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Foster said she swerved to avoid an animal. Deputies said her Chrysler went off the east side of the roadway. Foster over-corrected and came back on the road before the vehicle left the roadway again and overturned, stopping on its top facing northeast.
Authorities said Foster suffered face/head cuts. A spokeswoman at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center said she was treated and released.
Police said a 3-year-old passenger from Jasper suffered shoulder-area scrapes.
The accident totaled the Chrysler.
The Dubois Volunteer Fire Department, a Uebelhor & Sons wrecker and Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services assisted.
