Woman arrested for battery, strangulation

HUNTINGBURG — A woman was arrested Tuesday for hitting and choking a person.
Chealsey Mattingly, 20, 408 N. Washington St., Huntingburg, was charged with strangulation, a Level 6 felony, and battery, a Class B misdemeanor.
Huntingburg Police were called Tuesday night to an apartment on Shelby Street in reference to a battery. After investigating, police reported that Mattingly punched the victim in the face. She also choked the victim by holding a sheathed knife to the victim’s throat to where the victim could not breathe, police reported.
Mattingly was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
