JASPER — A Velpen woman was arrested for drug charges Monday night.

Bambi R. Wyatt, 43, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated-refusal.

At 9:53 p.m. Monday, Jasper police conducted a traffic stop involving a Buick Century at the intersection of Seventh and Clay streets. Wyatt, the driver, showed signs of impairment, police reported.

Wyatt consented to a vehicle search, and officers found methamphetamine and a controlled substance, police said. Wyatt failed field sobriety tests and officers requested the subject complete a chemical test in reference to intoxication, which Wyatt refused, police said.

Wyatt was arrested and booked into the Dubois County Security Center. Sternberg’s assisted on the scene.
