Woman arrested after barging into resident's home

HUNTINGBURG — A Saturday night report of a woman hiding under a back porch table ended in arrest.


The Huntingburg Police Department received the call at 8 p.m. and, when officers arrived, they located Patricia K. Wright, 56, 202 N. Main St., hiding under a table on a home's back porch.

The residents reported that Wright had allegedly entered the house without knocking and helped herself to a bottle on their table, which she used to get some water.

Officers said that, when talking with Wright, she appeared to be in a state of intoxication. She was transported to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for medical clearance and a drug screen that also showed she was under the influence of multiple controlled substances.

Authorities booked Wright into the Dubois County Security Center at11:15 p.m. on a preliminary Level 6 felony count of residential entry and a preliminary misdemeanor count of public intoxication.
