JASPER — Police made an arrest after investigating a Tuesday evening report of a shoe theft.
The Jasper Police Department received a call at 6:43 p.m. reporting a woman leaving Shoe Sensation, 3637 N. Newton St., with a pair of shoes without paying. Police were told the woman fled on foot wearing shoes she had stolen.
Authorities located the suspect, Lorena R. Lugo, 25, Brownsville, Texas, north of the shoe store.
The shoes Lugo stands accused of taking were valued at $69.54.
Authorities booked Lugo into the Dubois County Security Center at 8:20 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of theft. She posted bond just after midnight this morning.
