Woman accused of drug offense

JASPER — Police accused a woman of a drug offense after a Thursday afternoon traffic stop.

A Jasper Police Department officer stopped a 1998 Ford passenger car driven by Jami E. Stout, 31, 514 Jackson St., Jasper, at 5:11 p.m. after observing the car go left of center twice on Division Road.

The officer allegedly discovered Stout’s driver’s license was suspended, the car had a false plate and Stout was in possession of 20 prescription pills that had not been prescribed to her.

Authorities booked Stout into the Dubois County Security Center at 7:03 p.m. on a preliminary Level 6 felony count of illegal possession of a legend (prescription) drug. Police also issued warnings for driving while suspended, driving left of center and operating with a false plate.
