Wire short results in Huntingburg fire run

From Local Sources

HUNTINGBURG — Units of the Huntingburg Volunteer Fire Department responded to the report of a possible fire in a wall Friday morning at the Larry Langer residence at 5383 W. 700S.

Firefighters answering the 8:28 a.m. callout west of Huntingburg found that wiring from a finished basement routed in conduit to an outbuilding had shorted in a back-wall corner area, according to Fire Chief Scott Patberg.

A couple of boards were scorched but the damage was minor and Langer had been at home to notice the problem, Patberg said.

Three trucks and 15 firefighters were on the scene for an hour with a fourth truck on standby at the station.
