Wilma Jean Holzbacher, 90, of Jasper, formerly of Greendale, passed away at 11:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Brookside Village in Jasper.
Wilma Jean was born in Lawrenceburg on December 25, 1927, to Alfred and Edna (Hanker) Bentle. She married Lester G. Holzbacher on January 4, 1947, at Lawrenceburg First Church of Christ in Lawrenceburg. Lester preceded her in death on December 20, 1997.
Wilma Jean worked as a bookkeeper for Aurora Utilities, followed by 21 years as an executive secretary at Milk Marketing, Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was a life-long member of Greendale First Church of Christ, W.C.E.F. and Bright Nighters Home Economics Club.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, sewing and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are one daughter, Deena (Terry Seitz) Lewis, Jasper; six grandchildren, Jon (Maggie) Holzbacher, Carrie Ahaus, Caron (Clay) Kugler, Erin Contreras, Stefanie (Lance) Walsh and Erich Holzbacher; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Wanda (Charles) Priem.
Also preceding her in death are two sons, Dennis and Daryl; son-in-law, Alex Lewis; and brother-in-law, Charles Priem.
A Celebration of Life service for Wilma Jean Holzbacher will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Greendale First Church of Christ in Greendale, with burial to follow in Greendale Cemetery. Visitation at the church will begin one hour before the service on Saturday, August 4, 2018
