Wildcats topple Patriots in home finale

The Heritage Hills girls basketball team celebrated its senior night on Monday evening, hoping for a victory to send some momentum their way before entering the postseason.

However, the Patriots fell 62-57 at home to the Wildcats as a big fourth quarter push helped lead Mater Dei to victory.

The Patriots had a 24-20 advantage at the halftime break and even led 35-34 entering the final quarter of play on Monday night. However, the Wildcats exploded for 28 points in the fourth quarter outscoring the Pats 28-22 and pulling ahead for a narrow five-point victory.

Rebekah Gordon led Heritage Hills with 18 points and seven rebounds in the loss while Morgan Vaal and Hadley Lytton both finished with 12 points each.
