The Jasper girls swim team will have two girls competing in four individual events and two relay teams in action at this Saturday’s state finals meet at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis.
Senior Lindsey Mehringer will compete in both the 200 freestyle and the 100 freestyle at the state meet on Saturday.
She advanced in the 200 freestyle after swimming with a time of 1:58.26 and won the 100 freestyle crown at last Saturday’s sectional with a time of 54.23.
Junior Carmina Armstrong will compete in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly after winning the sectional title in both of those events last weekend.
She advanced in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.41 and a time of 58.14 in the 100 butterfly.
The Wildcats will also send two relay teams to the state finals this weekend — the 200 freestyle team and the 400 freestyle team.
The 200 freestyle team is anchored by Armstrong, Mehringer, Kate Weaver and Leah Haas. The B team consists of Alyssa Skorge, Haley Kippenbrock, Rhegann Weisheit and Claire Witte.
The 400 freestyle team is anchored by Armstrong, Weisheit, Weaver and Mehringer with the B team consisting of Haas, Skorge, Kippenbrock and Witte.
