With a commanding team performance at Saturday’s boys swimming sectional, a slew of Jasper athletes punched tickets to this weekend’s state finals in Indianapolis.
Make room for one more.
Wildcat junior Austin Young placed fifth in Tuesday’s diving regional at Bloomington North, becoming one of eight divers to advance to Saturday’s state finals diving preliminaries at the IUPUI Natatorium.
Young, who earned second place at sectional behind teammate Luke Hoffman, recorded a score of 350.35 Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hoffman (210.15) completed his season by placing 14th in the 20-diver field.
Seymour’s Chris Robinson registered the highest score of 402.40.
