Weyer receives Eagle Scout

Boy Scouting’s highest rank, that of Eagle Scout, was presented to Dylan Jacob Weyer at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Feb. 11 at the Troop 186 Scout House in Ferdinand. Participating in the ceremony were Dalton Streicher, Gabe Steckler, Dick Lange, Chris Welp and Paul Messmer.

Weyer started his scouting career in the first grade as a Cub Scout. Through the years, he served as patrol leader, quartermaster, den chief and assistant senior patrol leader.

For his Eagle Scout project, he repainted the interior and exterior of the restrooms at the Dubois County 4-H Fairgrounds grandstand arena.

Weyer is a freshman at Forest Park Junior-Senior High School. He is a member of the soccer and track teams, FFA, Robotics Club, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Rangers for Christ and Student Council. He also is a member of the Dubois County Wranglers Horse and Pony 4-H Club and Junior Leaders.

He is the son of Gary and Michele Weyer.
