HAYSVILLE — Wet roadway conditions factored into a Thursday accident east of Haysville.
Leroy A. Sumner, 57, Petersburg, was westbound on State Road 56 in a 2005 Dodge Stratus when the 11:45 a.m. mishap occurred west of County Road 325E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
The sheriff’s department said Sumner lost control of his car on the wet roadway and the car went off the north side of the highway, stopping after striking a Frontier Communications telephone pole and a fence.
Sumner escaped injury but total damage was estimated to have exceeded $5,000.
A Uebelhor & Sons wrecker assisted at the scene.
