Werner gets 300th win

From Herald Staff Reports

EVANSVILLE — Another milestone came Greg Werner's way Tuesday night.

Werner has achieved most of his wins at Southridge, and it was with the Raiders (4-3) he got win No. 300 of his coaching career in a 48-41 triumph of Evansville Mater Dei. Sophomore Myah Montgomery led the way with 30 points, including a trio of 3-pointers. Werner is now 300-175 overall in his career, and 196-80 at Southridge. The Raiders will enjoy a layoff. They are scheduled Nov. 25 to play at Boonville. Southridge lost last year's game, 55-49.

Forest Park, however, was not able to have the same result. The Rangers (2-2) dropped to .500 after a 67-40 loss at Gibson Southern. Freshman Amber Tretter led the way with nine points. The Rangers will hope to avoid dropping below .500 on Thursday when they welcome Perry Central. Forest Park won last year's game, 52-43.
