JASPER — A Warrick County woman was brought to the Dubois County Security Center this week on a warrant charging her with Level 6 felony theft.

Documents in Dubois Superior Court allege that, on Jan. 11, Janet S. Peach, 50, Lynnville, took $118.40 worth of merchandise from the Walmart Supercenter at 4040 N. Newton St.

The theft charge was enhanced to a felony because Peach was previously convicted of theft this year in Vanderburgh County.

During an initial hearing Monday, the court entered a preliminary plea of not guilty on Peach’s behalf and set her next court appearance for May 9. Peach, who had been booked into the Dubois County Security Center on the active warrant, posted a $500 bond following the hearing in Dubois Superior Court.
