JASPER — An Orange County man was booked into jail Monday on a warrant issued last June after he failed to attend a court hearing.
Ezra J. Butler, 21, French Lick, pleaded guilty in Dubois Circuit Court to misdemeanor carrying a handgun without a license in November 2018.
The state petitioned to revoke Butler’s probation last May, and when he did not show up for a revocation hearing the following month, a warrant for his arrest without bond was issued.
Authorities booked Butler into the Dubois County Security Center at 4:30 p.m. Monday on the active warrant, and on Tuesday, he appeared in court.
During the hearing, the court approved Butler’s request for pauper counsel but denied his request for pretrial work release, setting his bond at $500.
Butler posted bond Tuesday night.
