Warrant sends man to sentencing hearing

From Local Sources

JASPER — A Huntingburg man was sentenced in a misdemeanor marijuana case this week after answering to a failure-to-appear warrant.

Court records indicate Logan L. Iles, 21, 320 N. Chestnut St., Huntingburg, twice failed to appear for an initial hearing in a marijuana possession case earlier this year, prompting the court to issue a failure-to-appear warrant.

When Iles did appear in Dubois Superior Court in August pursuant to the warrant, he pleaded guilty and the court set a sentencing date before releasing him on his own recognizance.

Another failure-to-appear warrant was issued Aug. 29 when Iles did not attend his sentencing hearing. He was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:02 a.m. Saturday on the latest warrant and, during a court appearance this week, was sentenced to 355 days of supervised probation and 80 hours of community service.
