Warrant charges man with failing to return

From Local Sources

JASPER — The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department brought a man to jail Monday morning on a Dubois Circuit Court warrant charging him with a Level 6 felony count of failing to return to lawful detention.

Jaden L. Lankford, 18, 910 E. Sixth St., Huntingburg, was serving a court-ordered sentenced on work release and had been released Wednesday to go to work in Jasper, according to court documents. A work supervisor contacted the Dubois County Community Corrections Center to advise Lankford had not reported to work that day.

Court documents indicate the community corrections center later received information alleging Lankford had been seen at a Huntingburg business and had stated he and another individual were “running” from work release.

A warrant for Landford’s arrest was issued Thursday and he was taken into custody Saturday in Vanderburgh County. He was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 9:57 a.m. Monday.
