JASPER — The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department retrieved a Jasper man from Clark County on Monday to answer to a drug-related local warrant.
A warrant issued Nov. 13 in Dubois Superior Court charges Jason S. Bessenger, 4119 W. 400N, Jasper, with Level 6 felony counts of unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance, plus misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
The charges stem from the sheriff’s department’s visit Oct. 19 to the residence where Bessenger was staying. Dubois County deputies were attempting to find Bessenger at the time to serve a Warrick County warrant charging him with invasion of privacy and criminal trespass.
While at the residence, deputies reported locating a syringe allegedly used for injection of controlled substances, methamphetamine, marijuana and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities booked Bessenger into the Dubois County Security Center at 11:31 a.m. Monday on the active warrant, as well as on a failure-to-appear warrant in another local drug-related case in Superior Court.
