Warrant charges man with dealing meth

JASPER — Authorities booked a Pike County man into jail Tuesday on a warrant charging him with dealing methamphetamine.
Court documents allege Kelly J. Birkle, 48, 9 S. State Road 257, Velpen, delivered methamphetamine in Dubois County on April 18.
A warrant charging Birkle with a Level 4 felony count of dealing methamphetamine was issued Aug. 28 in Dubois Superior Court.
Authorities booked Birkle into the Dubois County Security Center at 7:14 p.m. Tuesday on the active warrant. During an initial hearing Wednesday, a preliminary plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf by the court and his bond was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 surety.
