JASPER — A Jasper man was taken into custody overnight on a Dubois Circuit Court warrant charging him in connection with the burglary of a Jasper home.
Clint A.R. Sadler, 19, 801 E. 15th St., is charged in the warrant with a Level 4 felony count of burglary and a Level 6 felony count of theft.
Court documents indicate the Jasper Police Department opened an investigation last month after receiving a call from a city homeowner about a burglary that occurred some time between April 28 and July 3. The complainant said someone who broke into their home stole $12,200, silver certificates and miscellaneous old coins.
Sadler is alleged to have been involved in accessing a safe inside the home and stealing the items reported taken.
Authorities booked Sadler into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:04 a.m. today on the active warrant.
On July 12, Jasper police had arrested Logan M. Seger, 257 Brucke Strasse, in connection with the case. He was charged with Level 4 felony burglary and Level 6 felony theft and then placed on pre-trial work release.
On July 16, a separate complainant reported to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department that he had discovered engine parts missing from a vehicle. The complainant had allegedly learned some of the engine parts could be at a residence on Leopold Street in Jasper.
The sheriff’s department said a carburetor taken from the victim was located at the Leopold Street site and other parts were discovered to have already been installed on a different vehicle located on Mill Street in Jasper.
That investigation led the sheriff’s department to question Seger, who allegedly admitted to stealing the parts one and a half months ago, according to the sheriff’s department.
Seger was arrested that same on a preliminary Level 6 felony count of theft in that case.
