From Local Sources
JASPER — A wanted man will face new local charges related to his arrest Monday afternoon.
The Jasper Police Department went to the 2300 block of Sunset Drive at 3:20 p.m. in an attempt to serve a Dubois Circuit Court warrant on Eric M.W. McNabb, 23, 2312 Sunset Drive.
Police allege McNabb physically resisted officers when located, but was taken into custody with the aid of a Taser stun gun.
A search of McNabb’s person resulted in the discovery of a glass smoking pipe with white residue that tested positive as methamphetamine, according to police.
McNabb was taken to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center and, once medically released, was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 7:39 p.m. on the active warrant and on new preliminary charges of Level 6 felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor counts of resisting law enforcement and possession of paraphernalia.
Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services assisted.
