Volunteers sought for Patoka Lake

PATOKA RESERVOIR — Volunteers with diverse backgrounds to help with various opportunities around Patoka Lake. Some annual needs are photographers, special event assistants, carpenters, painters and campground hosts, just to name a few.

Volunteers are to come to the Nature Center between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, to learn more about the volunteer program and what opportunities there may be. Applications will be accepted for new volunteers.

Sept. 28 is National Public Lands Day.

The entrance fee for Newton Stewart State Recreation Area, Patoka Reservoir, north of Wickliffe on State Road 164, will be waived for those who plan to apply as volunteers.
