Violation of no-contact order alleged

JASPER — A Saturday night report of a verbal argument between a man and a woman resulted in the man’s arrest.

The Jasper Police Department was called to the 3500 block of Newton Street at 10 p.m. where the man and woman were walking northbound.

Officers arrived to learn the argument between the parties had been verbal in nature. But, after running both individuals’ identifications through dispatch, police learned there was an active no-contact order in place with the woman being the protected party.

Dustin J. Jones, 34, 257 Brucke Strasse, Jasper, was arrested on a preliminary misdemeanor count of invasion of privacy and was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 11:30 p.m.
