HAYSVILLE — A Knox County couple suffered injury in a pickup truck-versus-Jeep accident Saturday afternoon east of Haysville.

Lawrence Nolan, 58, Washington, was westbound on State Road 56 in a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado when the 1:41 p.m. accident occurred at Kellerville Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

Nolan attempted to turn south onto Kellerville Road and turned in front of an eastbound 2001 Jeep Wrangler driven by William Lindsey, 54, Vincennes, according to the sheriff’s department.

The Lindsey Jeep drove into the passenger side of the Nolan Chevrolet, according to deputies.

Air bags deployed in the crash that totaled both vehicles.

Lindsey suffered scrapes to his lower legs, according to the sheriff’s department. His passenger, Catherine Lindsey, 52, of the same Vincennes address, suffered lower leg scrapes and a cut to her leg that resulted in her being transported to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center by ambulance for treatment, deputies said.

The highway was blocked for about an hour while the scene was cleared.

The Haysville Volunteer Fire Department and a Uebelhor & Sons wrecker assisted.

Total damage was estimated between $10,000 and $25,000.
