GRANDVIEW — Indiana State Police have released the names of those involved in a Wednesday domestic incident north of Grandview that left a woman dead and a man hospitalized.
Found deceased at the residence was 64-year-old Linda F. Bowman. Injured at the scene was 52-year-old Alan L. Bennett.
Investigators determined that Bowman and Bennett had been living together. Police also say an autopsy Thursday conducted by Spencer County Coroner Rachel Gentry confirmed Bowman’s death was the result of a single gunshot wound to the head.
Authorities have noted the incident is contained, there is no public safety concern and more information on the ongoing investigation will be made public in the coming days.
Police launched a death investigation after a 12:56 p.m. CT call to the Spencer County 911 Dispatch Center reporting shots fired during an ongoing domestic dispute at 6280 N. Highland Road, Grandview.
State police troopers, Spencer County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Rockport City Police officers responded to the residence where they discovered Bowman dead and Bennett requiring immediate medical attention.
Bowman was flown via helicopter to an undisclosed hospital for treatment of what police said were serious injuries.
