Vehicles collide in private drive

DUBOIS — No tickets were issued after a Friday afternoon fender-bender along a private drive west of the Dubois Crossroads.
Benjamin S. Kline, 49, Portersville, was backing a 2011 Chevrolet Express van from a driveway onto a private drive in the 2300 block of East State Road 56 at the time of the 3 p.m. mishap, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Heidi C. Sander, 19, Jasper, pulled off the highway in her 2013 Ford Escape and entered the same drive, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sander told a deputy she saw the van backing in her direction but could not avoid the collision.
The van’s passenger side struck the front of the SUV.
Total damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
