Vehicles collide at Jasper intersection

JASPER — Total damage was estimated at $5,500 when two passenger cars collided Wednesday morning at Mill and Fifth streets.

According to a Jasper Police Department press release, while traveling westbound on Fifth Street in a 2003 Buick LeSabre, Betty E. Beck, 92, Dubois, disregarded a stop sign and struck a 2015 Toyota Camry that was being driven northbound on Mill Street by Margaret L. Beckman, 71, Jasper.

Beck was cited for disregarding a stop sign. Damage was estimated at $5,000 to the Beckman Camry and $500 to the Beck LeSabre.
