JASPER — A wrecker was needed after a vehicle collided with a deer Wednesday morning along a county road east of Jasper.
Bernard J. Knies, 28, Dubois, was westbound on Jasper-Dubois Road in a 2014 Ford passenger car when the 7:06 a.m. accident occurred east of County Road 175E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said the Knies Ford sustained major front end damage when it collided with a deer that came onto the roadway from the south.
The deer was located deceased on the side of the roadway after the collision.
Damage to the Knies Ford was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
