Vehicle totaled in truck-vs-SUV collision

JASPER — One vehicle was totaled and another heavily damaged in a truck-versus-SUV collision Friday afternoon in Jasper.
Alexander W. Altmann, 33, Jasper, was southbound on Newton Street in a 2018 Toyota RAV4 when the 4:55 p.m. accident occurred south of Northwood Avenue, according to the Jasper Police Department.
Police say the Altmann Toyota collided with a second vehicle that had been northbound before attempting a turn.
Authorities said that second vehicle was a 2013 General Motors truck driven by Tabitha D. Ochs, 44, Otwell.
Police said Ochs had attempted a left turn into the Holiday Liquors parking lot.
Damage to the Ochs truck was estimated at $10,000 while the Altmann Toyota was listed as a total loss.
There were no injuries and no report of citations.
