Vehicle runs off rural road curve

From Local Sources

IRELAND — A vehicle needed to be pulled out of a ditch late Friday after a single-vehicle mishap west of Ireland.

Chad M. Hayes, 25, Petersburg, was northbound on County Road 900W in a 1988 Ford Ranger when he failed to negotiate a sharp curve north of County Road 150N, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy said the Hayes vehicle drove off the north side of the roadway and struck an embankment. The vehicle became stuck as Hayes tried to get it back on the roadway. It was pulled out by one of his friends.

Damage was estimated at less than $1,000.
