The following scheduled events have been canceled or postponed because of COVID-19. The list will be updated regularly.
324 MP DET (PWIC): The annual reunion picnic scheduled for July 12 has been canceled. The next picnic will take place on July 11, 2021.
Astra Theatre, Jasper: Due to COVID-19, the Next Act has posponed all remaining shows for the 2020 season. All tickets sold for the remainder of the previously scheduled shows will be refunded. Season ticket holders will be contacted via email with more details on their options.
Boone Township Consolidated School Reunion: The reunion scheduled for Oct. 3 has been postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19. A 2021 date has not been set. Anyone who has ever attended Boone Township School is asked to email their name, address, home or cellphone number and email address to btcs1946Wgmail.com so the invite list can be updated. Celebration Singers: All rehearsals postponed until further notice.
Celestine Streetfest 2020: The 2020 festival has been canceled. The event will return on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
Celestine Car Show: The car show that would have taken place in conjunction with the Celestine Street Festival has been canceled due to COVID-19.
Community Table meals, Micah Center, Dale: The Micah Center of Dale Presbyterian Church has canceled the Thursday evening Community Table meals for as long Governor Holcomb’s order to stay home is in force.
Daughters of Isabella Circle 140, Jasper: July meetings have been canceled. The next meeting has been scheduled for Monday, Aug. 10.
Dubois High School Class of 1958: The class reunion planned for July has been canceled due to COVID-19. A reunion is being planned for 2021.
Dubois Strong: The annual meeting for Dubois Strong has been changed to 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Huntingburg Event Center. Networking will take place from 11 to 11:30 a.m. (The meeting had been rescheduled for Sept. 10 earlier.)
Freedom Reins Therapeutic Riding Center: The not-for-profit organization with its purpose being to improve the bodies, minds and spirits of children and adults with disabilities through the use of horse therapy, has made the difficult decision to cancel all classes for the remainder of 2020. With the close contact of all individuals involved in the program (both students and volunteers), it would be difficult to maintain social distancing and also would be difficult to use face masks, gloves, hand soap, hand sanitizer and cleaning of equipment, along with various other methods for keeping the program participants safe. Prior to the program beginning again next spring, Freedom Reins will research ways to come back stronger, implementing ways to transition back into full swing while using methods to keep students and volunteers safe while still enjoying the benefits of the program.
Gadlage reunion: The 2020 Ben and Catherine Gadlage reunion has been canceled due to COVID-19. “God bless you all and keep you save,” the Schulz family. For additional information, call Sandra Terwiske at 812-389-2491.
Gehlhausen reunion: The Benard Gehlhausen reunion scheduled for July 25 has been canceled. The next reunion will be held on July 31, 2021, at the Schnellville Community Center.
Huntingburg Senior Center: Closed until further notice.
Jasper Chamber of Commerce: Some activities and events have been rescheduled or are being planned as new events. Jasper Chamber events, activities and programs will be announced in The Herald.
Latino Culture Fest: The Sept. 4-5 festival has been canceled. It will return Sept. 3-4, 2021.
Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial: The visitor center is closed until further notice. Where it is possible to adhere to the latest health guidance of social distancing, visitors are invited to enjoy the hiking trails in the park.
Margry Lemond and James Nicholas Small family: The family reunion scheduled for July 25 at the Duff Conservation Club is canceled due to COVID-19. Due to crowd size, travel distances, families with underlying health concerns and other uncertainties, it is believe it is in the best interest to error on the side of caution. Memorial Hospital classes: Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center has canceled or postponed all classes, support groups, events and employer/community group health screenings until further notice. Classes and events will continue to be evaluated pending state recommendations. If you have any questions, call Memorial Hospital at 812-996-2345.
Older American Center, Jasper: all scheduled activities — including bingo, catered meals and exercise classes — are canceled until further notice. The casino trip has been rescheduled for Nov. 4 and the baseball trip has been canceled.

Schneider reunion: The Schneider Family reunion for descendants of Jacob and Louise Schneider is canceled for this year due to COVID-19. A reunion will be planned for 2021.
Wigand reunion: The John and Mary (Schnell) Wigand family reunion will not be held this year due to the coronavirus. For more information call Sylvester Voegerl at 812-326-2232 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wittman reunion: The Wittman Reunion Committee has regretfully decided to not host the reunion this August as originally planned due to the COVID-19 virus.
