U.S. 231 at Fourth to go to one lane

From Local Sources

HUNTINGBURG — Starting Wednesday, U.S. 231 near Fourth Street will be condensed to one lane so that crews can work on the intersection. The work is expected to take about three weeks.

During that time, traffic will be controlled by temporary light signals. There will be no left turns onto Fourth Street by northbound traffic. Southbound traffic will still be able to turn right onto the street.

The work is part of the Fourth Street Heritage Trail Project, which is a redesign on Fourth between Jackson and Geiger streets. Crews have been working on the east half of the street, from U.S. 231 to Jackson Street, since January.
