The following scheduled have been canceled or postponed because of COVID-19. The list will be updated daily.
American Legion Post 493, St. Anthony: The annual fundraiser has been postponed and monthly meetings of the Legion and its Auxiliary have been canceled until further notice. A new date has not been set for the fundraiser. Members are asked to turn in their raffle tickets as soon as possible; the drawing will take place Friday, April 17.
Birdseye Conservation Club: The shooting matched set for March 29 has been canceled. The 10-gun raffle drawing will take place; tickets are available by contacting Kelly Zehr at Zehr’s Auto or any board member. The winners will be notified.
Cancer benefit: The benefit for Kathy (Lampert) Merkley scheduled for March 28 has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 3, at the St. Anthony Community Center, 4665 S. Cross Road. Doors will open at 11 a.m. and meals will be served from noon to 2 p.m. A silent auction and bake sale will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are available by calling Stacy Merkley at 812-630-5954, Cindy Eckstein at 812-631-2106 or Becky Lampert at 812-639-7138.
Christ the King Parish: The barbecued chicken dinner planned for Sunday, April 5, at the St. Henry Catholic Knights of America Hall has been canceled.
Dubois County Democrats: All public meetings are canceled fro the next 30 to 60 days, including the March 25 public event featuring Democrats running for Indiana attorney general. Also, the Democratic Headquarters, 402 E. 13th St., Jasper, will be closed until further notice. Dubois County Museum: The museum will be closed until at least Tuesday, March 31.
Dubois County Historical Society meeting: The Dubois County Historical Society Meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 26, has been postponed until Thursday, Oct. 22. Dubois Strong: The annual meeting for Dubois Strong has been changed to 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Huntingburg Event Center. Networking will take place from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
Food for Thought: Food for Thought: There and Gone and Back Again scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, at the Jasper Parklands Pavilion, Jasper, has been canceled.
Garden Gate Festival: The Dubois County Chamber of Commerce’s Garden Gate Committee has postponed the Garden Gate Festival that was scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at Market Street Park in Huntingburg. The Golden Ticket Raffle that was also scheduled for April 18 will still happen, but will become a virtual event. Golden Raffle Tickets are still available at Gehlhausen’s Flowers and Lush Esthetics. The proceeds will benefit the Huntingburg Merchant Association.
Huntingburg Senior Center: Closed until further notice.
Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association District 18: The meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 19, has been canceled.
Jasper Deutscher Verein: The Wednesday, March, 18, meeting at the Jasper Moose Lodge has been canceled.
Memorial Hospital classes: Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center has canceled or postponed all classes, support groups, events and employer/community group health screenings through April 3. Classes and events beyond this date will be evaluated pending state recommendations at that time. If you have any questions, call Memorial Hospital at 812-996-2345.
Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial: The visitor center is closed until further notice. Where it is possible to adhere to the latest health guidance of social distancing, visitors are invited to enjoy the hiking trails in the park.
Networking event: The Dubois County Chamber’s first networking event scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, has been postponed.
Older American Center, Jasper: all scheduled activities — including bingo, catered meals and exercise classes — are canceled through Friday, April 3. The casino trip scheduled for Wednesday is postponed until May 13.

Pfaffenweiler trip: The Jasper Partnership Commission and the Pfaffenweiler Partnership Commission have cooperatively made the decision to postpone the 35th Anniversary trip to Pfaffenweiler, scheduled for June 2020. It will be rescheduled for 2021.
Rummage sale: The rummage sale scheduled for Thursday through Saturday, March 26 to 28, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church has been postponed.
St. Henry Water Corporation: The annual meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, has been canceled.
Sisters of St. Benedict: The Sisters of St. Benedict are closing their Liturgy of the Hours and Masses to the public until further notice. In addition, the Benedictine Hospitality Center will not house guests for at least 30 days; all tours inside the monastery, guided or self-guided, are suspended until May 12; the Monastery Gift Shop is closed until further notice, but online orders and shipments are still available through monasterygiftshop.org; Sundaes with the Sisters set for March 22, the Way of the Cross scheduled for March 28 and Spirituality in the Different Stages of Life planned for April 28 have been canceled; the Spring Fest set for April 25 has been postponed until a date later in the fall; and the entrance into the monastery is restricted to essential visitors only, after passing screening at the reception desk. The Village Hut, Fulda: Barbecued chicken and pork chop dinners will not be sold at The Village Hut on Sunday, March 22.
