FERDINAND — Two cars, one of them unoccupied, were thought to have been totaled in a Sunday accident on Main Street near 17th Street.
The Ferdinand Police Department said the 11:49 a.m. accident involved a driver under the age of 18. That motorist was driving a 2010 Ford Focus owned by Jodi Gogel, of rural Ferdinand, police said.
An officer reported the Gogel Focus side-swiped a parked, unoccupied 2012 Ford Fusion owned by Jenna Brandes, Ferdinand.
Police said the driver of the Gogel Focus was protected in the collision by the use of a seat belt and by front airbag deployment.
Damage was estimated at $6,000 to the Gogel Focus and $6,000 to the Brandes Fusion.
Both vehicles were towed by Berg’s Garage wrecker service.
