JASPER — A traffic stop initiated because a trailer was being pulled at night with no taillights sent a man to jail during the weekend.
The Jasper Police Department says the incident occurred at 1:30 a.m. Saturday at 13th and St. Charles streets.
After stopping a Chevrolet Silverado pulling the trailer with no taillights, police said the driver, Jeffery J. Ward, 38, 1370 W. Division Road, Jasper, was determined to have been drinking.
Police said Ward’s blood alcohol content tested .182% in a certified chemical breath test at the Jasper Police Station.
Authorities booked Ward into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:55 a.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated with a BAC over .15% and operating while intoxicated (endangerment).
