Unidentified woman’s body pulled from Ohio RiverFebruary 11, 2020

MT. VERNON — Indiana Department of Natural Resources conservation officers report assisting in the recovery of a woman’s body Monday from the Ohio River near Mt. Vernon.
Authorities investigating in Posey County say her identity is unknown at this time.
Members of the Marrs Township Fire Department in Mt. Vernon were able to get to the victim at 11:50 a.m., according to conservation officers. The Posey County Coroner’s Office plans to conduct an autopsy today.
Emergency Management Agency directors along the Ohio River are being contacted to try and find a possible identification of the victim, conservation officers said.
The Posey County Sherriff’s Office, Posey County Emergency Medical Services, the Black Township Fire Department in Mt. Vernon, Mt. Vernon Transfer Terminal and American Rivers Transportation Corporation also assisted Monday.
