UE fires theater professor over harassmentDecember 18, 2018

EVANSVILLE — The University of Evansville says it has fired a theater professor who is accused of sexually harassing a student.
R. Scott Lank has been on leave during the fall semester. He has a right to appeal the decision.
A student says harassment by Lank forced her to leave the school earlier this year. Alexis Seay says he wrote a role for her in a play that required her to be nude. She accused him of unwanted touching and suggestive and racist remarks.
Lank has denied the allegations in a lawsuit filed earlier by Seay. The school tells the Evansville Courier & Press it investigated complaints and found that Lank’s conduct “violated university policy.”
The university says it’s working with an outside group to prevent unacceptable behavior by staff.
