Two receive Young Christian Award

JASPER — Following graduation Mass, two eighth-grade students were awarded the Young Christian Award from Holy Trinity Catholic School’s Class of 2019. This award is given to one eighth-grade boy and one eigth-grade girl that excel in leadership, service and overall character. This award is voted upon by Holy Trinity Middle School faculty and school administration.

The female recipient of the 2019 Young Christian Award is Braelyn Wehr, daughter of Heath and Kristi Wehr of Jasper. Throughout her time at Holy Trinity Catholic School, Braelyn exceled both inside and outside of the classroom, and is noted for her constant positive attitude. She was involved in Student Ambassadors, Builders Club, volleyball, dance, had a role in “Mary Poppins Jr.,” 4-H, Dance Central and is a Holy Family Mass server.

The male recipient of the 2019 Young Christian Award is Drew Clauss, son of Phil and Jamie Clauss of Jasper. Throughout his time at Holy Trinity Catholic School, Drew also exceled inside and outside of the classroom and is known for his quiet humbleness. He was involved in Student Ambassadors, Builders Club, Boy Scouts, soccer, basketball, a part of the flag team, and is a Holy Family Mass server.
