Two injured in Ferdinand crash

FERDINAND — Two people were injured in a crash on State Road 162 in Ferdinand Thursday morning.
Indiana State Police, the Dubois County Sheriff's Office and the Ferdinand Police Department responded to a vehicle crash on State Road 162 just north of Interstate 64 around 10:05 a.m. At the time of the crash, Derrick Carter, 45, Louisville, Kentucky, was operating a 2014 Isuzu box truck northbound on State Road 162. The vehicle then traveled off the west side of the roadway.
Carter was flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville for treatment of his injuries. Juanito Lyons, 42, also from Louisville, Kentucky, was a passenger in the vehicle. Lyons was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper for treatment of his injuries.
The accident is still under investigation by the Indiana State Police.
Agencies assisting at the scene were the Dubois County Sheriff's Office, Ferdinand Police Department, Ferdinand EMS and Fire and Huntingburg EMS.
